These four concepts are followed by this company to achieve better results in its activities.
Raw Material
The Glass: Isabelart’s Glassfusion jewelry is made by sheets of glass especially designed to be fused and 950 silver which give this jewelry its elegancy.
The glass used for fusing is imported by the artist from specialist glass companies in North America which also produce glass for blowing and torch work.
The Silver: Quality products are made with quality materials; that is why Isabel chose 950 silver for its jewelry pieces.
950 silver, as different as the 950 silver, better known in North America as Sterling Silver, contains more percentage of silver in its composition which makes it finer. The term 925 silver is originated by its composition:
- 925 Silver or Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
- 950 Silver, used by Isabel is 95.0% silver and 5.0% copper.
- 99.9 Silver or Fine Silver is 99% silver, which is not used so frequently in jewelry, because it is very malleable. Therefore work with it is very difficult, so jewelry makers prefer to work with metal with less percentage of silver in its composition.

Creative Process
The best way how to explain the artist creative process is through her own words. So next you will find phrases describing the whole process.
The artist says: “When I am creating my pieces my mind travels to different places, strange and wonderful landscapes which beauty flood me”.
Isabel once said that the glass captured her with its beauty and became the instrument that allows her to externalize her most deep feelings and emotions.
“There is a connection between glass and nature, probably because of it is part of nature; this link has given me many satisfactions while I work with glass.”
“It is like the pieces of glass communicate with me and let me know what kind of figure they want to become; they practically tell me what to do.”
“The glass is not cold anymore and turns in to a landscape; for me, it becomes the canvas where I imprint my art.”
Isabelart is inspired in nature, life, peace, happiness, and harmony. This is shown in the variety of forms and abstract designs, suggesting in some cases wildlife forms.
Fusion Process
The Glassfusion technique consists in cutting and polishing pieces of fine glass, which at the end will give form to the jewels, melting the glass, and the addition of silver.
Step1. Cut and Paste: The glass that uses Isabel is obtained from recognized companies in the glass fusion field. The glass comes in sheets in different colors and shapes which are cut with special tools such as: pliers, etc.
After the glass is cut, the small pieces are set in an artistic way based on what the artist wants to express. The different colorful pieces are then glued over a base of glass, mainly a bigger piece of glass which will give the size of the jewel. Then, each pre-jewel is taken to the kiln for the melting process.
Step2. Melting Process: Each piece of combined glass is then put in a kiln for 20 minutes at 950ºC; Then, the pieces are taken out for the cooling process which take in ten hours in average. Ten hours after the cooling process is finished, the jewels are kept in observation for 5 days to avoid post cracks due changes in temperature. The pieces will be finally polished in their edges for a rounded finishing.
Step3. Silver Surrounded: After the glass pieces are completely fused into one, each piece is surrounded by 950 silver. The silver will give not only a fine finishing, but also will give each Glassfusion piece a jewel shape. Isabelart has created a wide variety of jewels such as pendants, earrings, rings, broaches, bookmarks and other home décor.
Isabelart uses the Glassfusion technique because it allows the pieces to be more colorful and vivid.
