Isabel Castillo, the artist, was born in Lima, Peru, in 1941. Since her early years she was attracted by the arts; when she was in high school she learned painting and engraving. After finishing school, she worked for a large multinational company that demanded much of her time, so her artistic desire melted down due to her work pressure and the stress. Once retired, she finally found the free time she always wanted to let her art flow; and this is when she started to rediscover her lost artistic side.

Nowadays, she is combining her manual skills and domain of colors to create this beautiful, creative and one of a kind Glass Fusion with sterling silver jewelry. Besides working with glass fusion, she also paints on wood, and does silver and aluminum engraving. She is continually learning new techniques that allow her to express her love and appreciation for nature and life.

Isabel learned to use the glass fusion and sterling silver technique in jewelry two years ago. Due to people’s demands, she started producing for the local Toronto market, thus her hobby became a business. A year ago, her work started to be sold all acrosss Canada and the United States with her company name Isabelart. You can now purchase her wonderful work at several galleries and museum shops in Ontario.
